lyrics

WHO YIELDS PROVOCATION ?
WHO YIELDS CRIME?
THE FIRE WAS NEVER MINE TO GIVE
I TOLD THEM THEY WERE WORTH MORE THAN WAGES
I TOLD THEM THE LAND COULD NOT BE OWNED
I SAID YOUR EVALUATIONS DEGRADED EVERYTHING
I POSITED YOU WERE AFRAID

Bound to love and bound to hate
Bound to want and bound to wait
I was not born for your hate
Release me
Now a stranger’s at your gate
Release me

God is a question
You worship an excuse
You turn time into an altar
And make sacraments of abuse
While your ego incartante
Incarcerated yourself
Turning land into wealth
And nature your perpetual slave.

Surely, what you worship is permission:
In the name of the freedom and the safety and the patriotism

Your words are cannon foder
Your sentence – sons, daughters
To relive the violent history you ignorance requires
Be lived again and again

You’re more likely to abuse power than challenge it
You’re more likely to try to control others than your own emotions
during times of such confusion, your hate feels too certain

but these are human problems and they must be met
we’re running out of time , running out of debt

We now interrupt good faith with a Tucker Carlson threat-
Fired from the Tower of Babel, now what’s he after?
I couldn’t trust anyone with that much vindication in his laughter
Desperate for validity, serving pudding cups of white fragility
Instead of selling replacement theory why don’t you try on humility?

Why does it take tragedy to catalyse?
What is this fear that overwhelms you?
Why doesn’t wonder quell your abuse?

This world is a beautiful place, and you have been used.
